七十二候をモチーフにしたポップでカラフルなモノづくり

日本には、季節の移り変わりを感じ取る目安があります。

それが、立春・立夏・立秋・立冬など、1年を24等分した二十四節気。

そして、その二十四節気をさらに3つに分け、5日間ごとの指標にした七十二候（しちじゅうにこう）。

72 patternworksは、この七十二候をモチーフに図案を作り、ポップでカラフルなものを作っています。七十二候という、日本の美しい季節の感じ取りかたを、独自のアイテムを通して伝えていければと思っています。

七十二候をモチーフにデザインした72 patternworksのハンドウォーマー

Introducing the pattern

七十二候をモチーフに作成したパターンの中から最近作成したものをご紹介します。ペンや水彩、時に切り絵などもしながら、基本手書きでパターンを作っています。

I created this pattern based on the motif of the 72 seasons. I generally create the patterns by hand, using pen, watercolors, and sometimes paper cutting.

七十二候の第50候 菊花開をイメージしたパターン

菊は日本でも古くからたくさん文様になっています。これは「むじな菊」という伝統の文様も意識しながらかいた図案。菊の花の間を秋の風が通り抜けるのをイメージしています。

The 72 seasons are how Japan perceives the seasons. The 50th is Kiku no Hanahiraku, which lasts for 5 days from October 13th. It is inspired by the image of an autumn breeze blowing through the chrysanthemum flowers.

七十二候の第20候 蚯蚓出をイメージしたパターン

七十二候の第20候、蚯蚓出 (みみずいずる)」の季節をイメージした図案。この図案は、土の中をイメージしています。白の線はみみずの通り道。水色や黄色、赤は土の中の栄養分をイメージしてかきました。みみずのいる土は、栄養分が行き渡るいい土になるそう。

The 72 seasons are how Japan perceives the seasons.The 20th season is "Mimizuizuru" (EarthwormEmergence), which lasts for five days from around May10th every year.This design is inspired by the inside of the soil.Thewhite lines represent the paths taken by theearthworms. The light blue, yellow, and red representthe nutrients in the soil.
